At Ageless Indy 360 Medical Aesthetics, our commitment to the community goes beyond providing top-notch aesthetic treatments. This month we were proud to be a Platinum Sponsor for the first annual Adalynn Strong Storm Cancer 5K, presented by BAM Weather. Not only did we have a great time participating, but it was also an important initiative to raise awareness and funds for pediatric cancer research in honor of a brave little girl, Addie Mae.
Adalynn Strong STORM CANCER 5K: Honoring Addie Mae
The Adalynn Strong Storm Cancer 5K is an event dedicated to the memory of Addie Mae, a courageous young girl who battled DIPG, a rare and inoperable brain tumor. Diagnosed at just three years old, Addie faced her illness with incredible bravery. Despite the initial prognosis of having only six months to live, she underwent extensive treatments funded by “The Cure Starts Now”, including 30 rounds of sedated radiation and participation in a clinical trial. Her tumor initially shrank by 33%, bringing hope to her family and doctors.
Addie later developed hydrocephalus and Leptomeningeal disease, leading to more rounds of radiation, surgeries, and chemotherapy. Despite the severe prognosis, Addie continued to defy expectations until she sadly passed away on May 13, 2021. In a final act of generosity, she donated her brain to research, contributing to ongoing studies aimed at finding a cure for this disease.
